Fruit bats flying in front of Sydney city centre tower blocks, Australia. Climate change has lead to many periods of heatwave and excessive temperatures. Temperatures over 42 degrees centigrade (now not uncommon in many parts of the fruit bats range) have resulted in fruit bat mortality causing them to die form hyperthermia.
