Dessicated farmland near Echuca in Victoria, Australia. Most of Victoria and New South Wales have been gripped by the worst drought in living memory for the last 15 years. Stocking rates on many farms in these areas have dropped dramatically as the land can no longer grow sufficient grass to support as many animals as it used to. This has lead to many farms becoming less profitable and some farmers having to abandon the land altogether.
