The Hyning in Grayrigg near Kendal Cumbria, UK is an old farmhouse and barns that is being converted into 8 holiday letting properties. The development is being finished to the highest environmental standards. The finished property will be of Passivhaus standard, super insulated with many renewable features. A ground source heat pump will provide heating for the properties with solar panels providing the power to operate the heat pump. All windows are tripled glazed. The property will harvest grey water for toilet flushing. The waste water goes through a series of bio digestors that purify the water to a standard where it can be fed straight back into an adjacent stream. This shot shows the piping for the ground source heat pump.
