Each turbine can generate enough electricity to power 95,000 homes. The whole snwy hydro scheme generates an average of 4500 gigwatt hours per year and produces 11% of Australias electricity. Sadly nearly all the rest of Australias power generation is from coal fired power stations. The scheme also provides 2360 gigalitres of irrigation water.
