As conditions warm and snow cover becomes less common, they make easier targets for predators like Golden Eagles. Also their heather moorland habitat is likely to become less suitable, as the vegetation changes. They will also face greater competition from Rabits and hares who will be able to move to higher altitudes as temperatures warm.
